KIYOMI HOUSE
This Japandi-style waterfront residence in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) is designed as a calm and refined living sanctuary that harmoniously blends Japanese simplicity with Scandinavian warmth. The architecture is expressed through clean geometric forms, natural materials, and a neutral color palette, creating a timeless and understated elegance. Strong indoor–outdoor connections are achieved through large openings, shaded terraces, and carefully curated landscapes, allowing nature and water to become an integral part of daily living. The private boat dock enhances the coastal lifestyle, offering direct access to the water while reinforcing the home’s exclusive yet tranquil character.
This residence is conceived as a serene waterfront retreat located in Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), blending the refined simplicity of Japanese architecture with the warmth and functionality of Scandinavian design, known collectively as the Japandi style. The project embraces a calm, understated luxury that prioritizes harmony with nature, spatial clarity, and a balanced indoor–outdoor lifestyle.
The architectural massing is composed of clean, geometric volumes arranged in a layered and terraced composition. These volumes respond sensitively to the site’s waterfront condition, allowing uninterrupted visual connections to the water while maintaining privacy from the surrounding context. Large overhangs, recessed façades, and generous terraces provide shade, reduce heat gain, and create transitional spaces between interior and exterior.
Natural materials and neutral tones dominate the design language. Exposed concrete, light-toned finishes, timber accents, and expansive glazing express honesty in materiality while enhancing the sense of calm and permanence. The building feels grounded yet light, achieving a quiet elegance without visual excess.
The landscape is an integral part of the architecture. Gentle slopes, curated greenery, and minimalistic planting reinforce the Japanese philosophy of nature as a living element of the home. Scandinavian influences appear in the openness of the layout, daylight optimization, and functional clarity of spaces.
A private boat dock directly connects the residence to the water, transforming the house into a true waterfront lifestyle home. This feature not only enhances exclusivity but also reflects the PIK coastal identity, allowing seamless movement between land and sea.
Overall, the design offers a refined sanctuary—where architecture, landscape, and water coexist in balance—tailored for modern living while remaining deeply rooted in tranquility and nature.
